Expert Candle Advice
You should receive your new, hand-poured candle with a wick already trimmed to ¼ inch. You will want to maintain this length throughout your candles life. Each time you light your candle, make certain your wick is trimmed to ¼ inch to avoid a larger flame or soot build-up on your glass.
The first time you light your candle, let it burn for 2 hours to allow the melted wax to reach the edge of the vessel. This will prevent your candle from tunneling and afford a consistent, clean burn. Please note, you should only experience your candle for up to 4 hours with each burn. This is a safety precaution.
Do not place your burning candle near anything flammable such as clothing, paper, etc. Always burn your candle on a stable, sturdy, heat-resistant surface. Keep your burning candle away from drafts, ceiling fans, and/or any other current of air. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Always extinguish your candle when you leave your room or space. For a margin of safety, discontinue burning a candle when ¼ inch of wax remains in the container.
